1930/40s GREEN Wicker Basket
Harry and David
Bear Creek Orchards * Medford, OR

This is a 1940s GREEN WICKER BASKET, most likely used to
send out Fruit-of-the-Month Club items.  That program was started
by Harry and David (Rosenberg) in the 1930s and continues today.
This basket is 10" x 16" & 12" tall with the handle.  It has a wood
base sitting at the top of the wicker sides & twig/wicker handle.NOTE: I have this GREEN basket and also a WHITE one.
It is soft GREEN in color, with remnants of a silver spray around
side wicker (probably originally an accent color). Wicker is in original,
untouched condition, which shows sign of some paint loss. The wood
has a small dark spot & some paint loss--otherwise good condition.
Stamped on the bottom: HAND WOVEN AND PACKED BY,
Harry and David, AT BEAR CREEK ORCHARDS, MEDFORD,
OREGON.
This is a unique find from this historical company, which was
started in the 1910s and continues today--not to mention a
great-looking WICKER BASKET!
